Proposal Amendment 1

4.02 (D): General Notes and Life Membership Funds

Existing by-law:

Money received from Life Membership dues minus twice the current Annual Membership Fee and Patron contribution are to be kept in a single risk-free trust fund (Life Membership Fund) or Certificates of Deposit (CDs) that are approved by the BOT.

Proposal Amendment:

For New Life and Patron Membership Registrations:

* 60% of the Life Membership fee will go to the Executive Committee (EC) for organizational activities and expenses.

* 40% of the Life Membership fee will be retained by the Board of Trustees (BOT) in the Life Membership Fund.

Effective Date:

This amendment will apply to all new Life Membership registrations made on or after February 1, 2026, retroactive to the beginning of the current EC term.

Proposal Amendment 2

8.02 : COMPOSITION AND OFFICERS.

Existing by-law:

The EC consists solely of the following TAGB office-holders:

1. President.

2. President-Elect.

3. Secretary.

4. Treasurer.

5. Cultural Secretary.

Proposed Amended by-law:

The EC will consist of the following TAGB office-holders

1. President
2. President-Elect
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Cultural Secretary
6. Event Operations Coordinator (Optional)

Notes:

• The Event Operations Coordinator is an optional position who will be nominated by the President in consultation with the EC.
• The Event Operations Coordinator will be part of the EC.
• The Event Operations Coordinator's term will be limited to one year; it is a non-succession role.
• The Event Operations Coordinator can participate in the decision-making of the EC but will not have voting rights on decisions of the EC.
• The Event Operations Coordinator will not pay the nomination fees.
• The Event Operations Coordinator will work under the direction of the President and will provide help in all events organized by the EC.

Proposal Amendment 3

Change of Language to provide clarity to the existing by-Laws

8.06 (A) Sub-point 7: 

Current Text

The EC must pass on at least the minimum opening balance carried over from the previous term to the succeeding team.

Proposed Change

The outgoing EC should transfer the minimum opening balance from the previous term to the succeeding EC’s treasury upon the succeeding EC’s formal assumption of office. The purpose of this provision is to ensure that the organization maintains sufficient operating funds to support continuity and the smooth conduct of its day-to-day operations.

Proposal Amendment 4

10.02, Sub-point 7 (Responsibilities of Election Committee)

Current Text

If no candidate applies for a scheduled position, reviewing the need for that position with the incoming Governing Board; based on that review, the position is filled by a Patron or Life Member, or left vacant.

Proposed Change

If no candidate applies for a scheduled position, the Election Committee will review the need for that position with the current Governing Board to select a suitable candidate from the list of registered Patrons or Life Members, or leave the position vacant.
